DIY Training Center loves teaching homeowners the tricks of the trade to help them tackle home improvement projects of any size! Our in-person courses and one-on-one coaching provide homeowners with all the skills they need to master the art of "Do-It-Yourself."

An exciting part-time Marketing/Admin Coordinator position awaits a motivated individual for our Calgary, AB based business beginning immediately. This is a contract, hourly-paid position that is available for hybrid/remote work with a small number of on-site days in our Calgary training center.

Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who loves being creative and building skills? The DIY Training Center is a skills-building school and is looking to add a Marketing/Admin Coordinator to our team. This role is an opportunity for a proactive, self-motivated individual to use both creative and analytical skills to create marketing content, coordinate new campaign executions from concept to launch and assist with all admin based activities for the company. Reporting directly to the owners of the business:

What You Will Do:

  • Support the company’s marketing initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of marketing programs such as content marketing, social media, e-mail, blog writing etc.
  • Assist in Content Creation including, but not limited to: photography, videography and copy writing
  • Work with our team on branding/marketing strategy and planning.
  • Maintain and update all marketing material.
  • Prepare weekly analysis of results in preparation for goal setting and review with supervisor.
  • Manage the online representation of our brand through our social networks such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Develop marketing content.
  • Coordinate all scheduling of classes and become an expert in our booking system.
  • Coordinate trade shows and promotional materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer to our students through phone/email.
  • There may be additional duties and responsibilities.

Skills and Experience Needed for this Position:

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Experience in photography, video editing and content creation a strong asset.
  • Experience in graphic design an asset.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in digital media.
  • Excellent organizational skills, process-oriented with attention to detail.
  • Reliable, dependable, and accountable with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copy writing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word and Excel required or Google suite of products.
  • Proactive individual with the ability to self-manage projects and overcome obstacles independently.
  • Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google My Business and other Google tools considered an asset.
  • Familiarity using email marketing software (i.e., MailerLite) will be considered an asset.
